PRIVACY POLICY

More Pretty Things is committed to protecting the personal data you give us.  Not just because it’s the law but also because we value you, our customer and we ourselves would want the same level of commitment and protection of our personal data when dealing with a business in this way.  Our full policy is set out below but just to confirm right from the off that we won’t ever sell, swap or pass on your personal data to other companies for marketing purposes.

 

What personal information do we collect about you?

When you ask us to keep in touch with you about our services and products, book onto a workshop, purchase goods from us or require our services in some way, we need to collect personal information from you in order to do so.  For our newsletter this would simply be your email address and for other services ie booking onto one of our worskhops, making a purchase from us etc the type of personal information we would need from you would be your name, email address, telephone number and address as appropriate/applicable. We will only ever ask you for the amount of personal information we truly need in order to provide a particular service to you. (We don’t agree with companies that ask for things like your income or date of birth for no apparent reason).

 

How do we use this information?

The information you provide us with is used in order to provide you with information about our services, fulfil orders, sales and transactions and generally meet the needs you have from us with regards our products and services.  We may also need to use this information in order to contact you from time to time should we need to obtain or provide additional information from you, this may be to update you on policies, check our records are correct or confirm that you are still happy to remain in touch with us.

 

Storage and retention of your personal data:

Your personal data is collected and stored on paper, electronically or both as is necessary/applicable.  It is stored securely, this may be in a lockable filing cabinet or password protected hard drive/ hand held device.

Our current secure payment systems for our online store is Paypal and Stripe. We don’t have access to your credit card details or any sensitive information you provide to them. Using them simply allows you to send payment securely to us via them.  Click on either to see their privacy policy.

For customers who have opted in to receive regular marketing updates from us via our email, our chosen third party marketing provider is called Mailchimp. Our account with them is password protected. For more information on Mailchimps privacy policy please click here.

 

Under no circumstances will More Pretty Things ever sell, swap or pass on your personal data to other companies for thier marketing purposes.  We may however be required to disclose an individual’s personal information in response to a lawful request by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

 

We will only retain your information for as long as we feel is necessary to do so or required by law to do so. This is with the exception of customers who have asked us to remain in touch, be it through our E-Newsletter or email/post communication.  In this case we will continue to send you updates and information as requested until such time that you confirm to us that you no longer wish to receive information from us.

 

To ‘opt out’ of receiving information from us:

Should you no longer wish to receive communication from us then please let us know by informing our data controller (Jo Thompson) at any time or to unsubscribe from our E-newsletter simply click the ‘unsubscribe button’.   Please note that you may still continue to receive communications from us for a short time until our system has been updated.

 

Access to your personal information:

Other (Non personally identifying information) we collect:

Website Visitors:   Like most website operators, More Pretty Things collects non personally identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. More Pretty Things’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how More Pretty Things’s visitors use its website. From time to time, More Pretty Things may release non-personally identifying information in the aggregate, e.g. by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.  In ‘Mailchimp’ we also gather statistics around email openings and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter.

 

Changes to this Privacy Policy:

Although most changes are likely to be minor, More Pretty Things may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in More Pretty Things sole discretion. This policy was last reviewed on 24th May 2018 and it will be reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that your personal information is always kept safe.
