Adding dried flowers to a gift at any time of year can really give it a luxurious feel.

Even if it’s just wrapped with tissue paper.

I always cut down my lavender in summer and let it dry out to use later in my wrappings.

Lavender is easy to dry out and always looks and smells so beautiful when it has.

And yes it may be some time until summer is here but it’s a good time of year to start planning what you’d like to grow as with the weather showing signs of getting warmer it won’t be long til it’s perfect conditions for potting up flower seeds on the windowsill! (or greenhouse if you’re lucky enough to have one).

I actually managed to walk Joey without hat and mittens this morning…now that’s progress and a sign spring is definitely on its way! Yay!

It may be a little early in the year to hear the buzzing of the bees as yet but as the light was so beautiful today it would have been a shame not to do a spot of product photography.

It also meant I could spend the afternoon on the sofa with my laptop, sizing up the images and adding more bits to the store while I kept an eye on Joey the dog.

He became unwell on Friday and whilst we aren’t sure what’s wrong, he rather worryingly does have some symptoms that could indicate diabetes or kidney disease etc so he had to have a blood test today.

He was so brave at the vets and is being such a trooper, still taking his work role seriously and letting me know if he spots a courier or postman coming towards the gate! (In between naps.)

And given the lack of sleep I’ve had these past few days I am very surprised I haven’t joined him!

There’s too much to do…mind you I’m at that point where I’m flagging now so time to sign out for the day, make a quick stir fry for tea and a have a very early night!

Friends are the family we choose for ourselves don’t you think?

It always makes me smile when I’m packaging up orders that have friends cards in because I know just how important it is to get the right card for a friend and just like you go ‘that’s it’ when you see it in our store, I do exactly the same when I’m searching the UK for the best of the best cards from independent designers and small businesses to bring to you.

So the smile is for many reasons but mostly because I do rather love knowing I’m on the same wavelength as my lovely customers and that just like the card above, it was picked by me with love and then by you with love and that love will be passed on to the most dearest and most wonderful of friends! 💕

There’s nothing like a good book, your favourite

There’s nothing like a good book, your favourite brew (in your mug of choice for that particular time of day of course!) and getting cosied up to really hit the spot after a busy week.

That is unless you like to knit (or something else that’s crafty) and in which case the mug and brew of choice are still most important!

And never have I thought ooh I’d like to sit with absolutely nothing on my feet 🤣. Indeed choosing a pair of socks for the day (or task in hand) is just as important as my mug or what’s in it!

If it wasn’t then none of us would have a sock drawer right?

Thankfully our new range of gift socks come in many forms and some in both men and women’s sizes so those you love can knit, read or nurse a cold with perfectly warm feet!

It’s February…the month of love! A wonderful

It’s February…the month of love!

A wonderful reminder not just to be grateful for the loved ones in our lives (whether that’s a fur baby, friend partner or family member) but also to remember to take a breath and find time in our busy lives to do the things that we love and that fills us with happiness.

For me that often involves nature and can be the most simplest of things such as filling up the bird feeders and watching out of the kitchen window with a hot cuppa to see all our feathered friends fly in for a feast!

Or ….as I’m a homebird, creating a cosy seasonal vibe in our home is one of my happy places!

This tends to be without spending lots of money …I’d much rather find something lovely in a charity store or repurpose something treasured that I already have.

Leading me nicely onto this mornings little potting up session of spring bulbs into various pots. ..from upturned jelly moulds to a little ‘love’ mug I bought many moons ago!

Love is definitely in the air! Happy February all. 💕

Hubby will be laying a floor in the utility room we are renovating so I might need the radio on loud to drown out the noise!

That’s you not the wrapping paper although we do have the prettiest gift wrap and here’s but a sample!

How to store stock can be tricky for any business…you want to be able to quickly access it but also it needs to be kept at its best and you want to limit the space it takes up so I keep most of our gift wrap in these custom built (by my hubby) drawers in my office.

This means at a glance I can check stock levels or pick sheets out to package up in orders but also sometimes I like to just open to admire and enjoy the view! 🤣

And when we’ve new stock arriving I can pick some out that are running low or end of season, reduce them and make room for more!

Which leads me on very nicely to tell you we do have a little sale on and this includes some of our gorgeous wrap starting from as little as 50p!
